No more pianocat :(

My avatar and inspiration for my forum handle crossed the rainbow bridge this afternoon. 😔 She'd been sick for a couple months and had basically stopped eating.

She used to LOVE sitting with me on the bench, trying to nestle her head in the crook of my arm while I played, and sitting on the bench even if I wasn't playing. Maybe trying to guilt trip me into practicing more! She was a sweet girl.

My namesake, the original two cats, are no longer with us (now we have three different cats). These fur babies are so special and they give us so much love, but their time with us is limited. I hope your wonderful memories of your piano cat carry you through this difficult time.

I am so sorry to hear that. Everytime we lose one of our fur babies, I'm completely devastated.

A few years ago, I hacked out a sloppy version of "Home Sweet Home" as it was played on season 1 of PEACEMAKER. Despite it being a bit sloppy, I kept it because my boy Floyd was sitting on the bench next to me, headbonking me and generally being sweet. He passed away not long after, adding additional significance to the song title. I offer it here as a small tribute to your kitty.

I'm sorry for your loss, I remember the pain of losing a beloved pet - it can feel like losing a limb! Due to allergies it's been years since we had cats, but even now I can feel quite melancholy when I come across old photos of our pets, from many years ago.

twocats Thank you. I do have one younger cat, but he does not enjoy musical instruments. 🙂 It's okay, he's otherwise a sweet cat as well.

Though 'cat' doesn't appear in my username, it derives from the nickname of one of my cats (Stubbie), gone now for over a decade. She hated it when I played the piano....

So sorry to hear that pianocat! We lost two cats in very short succession almost exactly two years ago, one was very old and it was not unexpected, the other a sudden and nasty "surprise". I feel your pain!

pianocat I'm so sorry! As a fellow cat owner it always hurts to hear about someone losing their furbaby.
My previous cat always snuggled up right next to me when I played my classical guitar. After he passed it took a significant time to bring myself to practice again without him there. Now I can look back on the happy moments he brought.

A big sorry from my side as well. Things go their way and you cannot do anything about. Just accept it and live in sorrow for a certain time. And have some nice memories of her, always keeping them in your heart.
