I obtained from Henle a copy of the score for Bist Du Bei Mir which is not the children's bach version I have learnt.
The fingerings are a bit awkward but otherwise it has not been too bad.
This is the score for piano solo and it has a mix of larger and smaller notes. My limited understanding is that the larger notes are the ones carrying the melody and are mostly the notes that would be sung. But since this is the piano solo version I'm meant to be playing all the notes while making sure the melody comes through.
In the circled bar, the treble clef is asking me to play a trill while in the same hand play a couple of smaller notes. I'm bad enough at playing trills, but doing both is absolutely impossible for me.
I am just trying to determine the better approach, do I ignore the trill and play those smaller notes, or do I ignore those and play the trill? Neither sounds particularly great to me, but that could just be my clumsy fingers.
