Free web app for piano practice with sheet music + MIDI support

Hey everyone! I built a free web app for learning piano: pianolearn.app

What it does:

Load MusicXML sheet music and practice along
Virtual piano keyboard on screen
MIDI keyboard support (plug in and play!)
Measure highlighting to track where you are
***Audio playback coming soon 🎵
It's completely free - no signup required to start practicing.

I made this as a side project while learning piano myself. The existing apps felt too expensive or locked features behind paywalls.

farukkandemir Well done on supporting MusicXML! That is truly liberating in my opinion.

I make sure that every digital sheet music that I buy comes with the MusicXML included, even if I have to extract it.

What's fascinating here is that by supporting MusicXML you have truly made this a free app and blown apart the typical captive subscription model these apps usually come with. Bravo! 👏

Your app looks surprisingly good to me... I've yet to hook up a MIDI keyboard though. Nicely done!

Audio playback would indeed be awesome.

navindra thanks! honestly the subscription thing always bugged me too, paying monthly just to practice? MusicXML was the move to keep it actually free. you already own the sheet music, should be able to use it however you want.

let me know when you hook up the keyboard, always curious to hear how it works for people!
