I know a guy in Portland who is planning to drive up for the recital, but it would be almost 2am by the time we got home and it's a really busy week for me, so I have to pass. I would definitely go if he was playing locally! There are still lots of excellent Tier 3 tickets available and according to the Internet, the acoustics are great up there at Benaroya Hall.

He’s a phenomenal pianist and I would definitely go as Benaroya Hall is easy for me to get to. However, I’m going to be out of town when he’s here. If anyone goes, please give us your review.

I’m thinking of going to the Conrad Tao concert on March 8th. I have heard he gives a great concert. Has anyone here heard him perform?

Tao is a sensational pianist and I heard him play around 10 to 15 years ago in New York City. Where I heard him play there was no back stage area to go at the end of the concert so he walked to the side of the stage where there was a screen he could go behind. But he was still partially visible and apparently so excited or something that he accidentally banged the back of his head against the wall while standing behind the screen!

Perhaps even more amazing than his piano playing is the fact that he played violin at the the professional level(he has now retired professional violin playing) and has won numerous composition awards also. He gave some concerts where he played both violin and piano concerti on the same program. You can read more about him here:

He played his 2019 Carnegie Hall recital debut barefoot which I think would I would have found quite strange if I had been there but received rave reviews:

pianoloverus Amazing that Conrad performed 10-15 years ago since he is only 31 years old! Last year he performed in Seattle with a tap dancer. I missed that one.
