Poli mentions that competitors for the International Chopin Competition were required to use Ekier.
Ekier's score is reflective of the Chopin manuscript.

Paderewski, on the other hand, thinks about the question but then decides:
"In the original editions the semiquavers are placed after the triplets ... it is hard to believe that Chopin did not notice this change. For these reasons we have retained the notation of the original and all recent editions."
