PianogrlNW I meant to post about it but I've been really busy!
@Pianoanne and I drove up together and we met up with @TheBoringPianist at the hall. It was probably close to 7 hours of driving that day (including to dinner etc) but we felt that it was worth it! Anne and I both thought it might be the best live recital we've ever attended. Very unique program of not often performed works. The Schumann was absolutely massive, might have been 40 minutes, and we did not at all feel that one hour was "not enough music". Magdalene has a very clear, sparkling tone and there are many layers to her playing. I think she's one of those rare people who can channel her playing from what she envisions directly into the keys.
Anne's friend got the manager's number and we'll try to see if we can get Magdalene to Portland! But PPI expects a 2 hour (including intermission) program, so we'll see.
