Years ago I studied "music calligraphy" and learned all the rules. Nowadays there is software, but I still like to jot things down at times while at the piano. I'm doing something right now that can involve 3 or more accidentals in a chord. I used to know the guidelines for which comes closer to a note, which further out. I can't find my old notes. Googling I get things like "how to write a key signature" or "what does a sharp do".
I've created nonsense notes using Dorico just sticking in a bunch of accidentals, to show what I mean by placement. Does anyone know where to look, under what kind of header? Or? It bugs me that I've forgotten this.
In what Dorico has done here, the accidentals are closest to the outer notes. in m. 3 why can't the F# also be close by since there's room for it? That kind of thing. I remember there were some kinds of guidelines.
