Nightowl Brava ! Well done, and wonderful way to kick off the recital!
iternabe Great job! I love the Inventions, listening to you makes me want to return to one.
keff that was very nice, thank you for sharing it!
Simonb that was a lot of fun to listen to! I especially enjoyed the RH in the latter part, very nice!
Player1 good job! I don’t know this composer< where did you find the music?
Sophia great playing ! I enjoyed reading the description as, thanks for sharing that! It’s interesting to listen to it and hear the ways that it sounds like a product of its time.
Peyton Wow! Great job with this obviously very challenging piece. I know a fair amount of Glass’s work, but I don’t think I’ve heard this one before. It’s really interesting to hear parts of the piece that I wouldn’t have guessed were Glass, and other parts that are (to my mind anyway) the essence of Glass-ian musical metaphor. You’ll have to tell me if I’m totally off in thinking that! Oh also I think it was @Sophia who commented on the ending? That kind of just stoping is quite common actually, in Glass but also Einaudi… it’s an interesting feature of this kind of minimalistic music. Anyway Peyton, I really enjoyed your video and I think I’ve done a fanatics job with the music.
Schubertian2 great playing, thank you for sharing it! Also your piano sounds very nice, I can see why you wouldn’t want to go with just an iPhone recording. Did you have to do a lot in GarageBand before it was ready to upload?
rsl12 great job, on both the song and piano part!! I have never actually seen Hamilton so I don’t know the original, but your piano playing is smokin! Also I thought the recoding balance worked well, I could hear the lyrics (i.e. understand the words of the lyrics, not just “hear”, which means the recording was nice and clear) and the piano part and they were balanced well. I have loved all your sing-alongs so far and this one is no exception!
plop_symphony Another Invention! I love it! And you’ve don’t a great job with it! Also, nice tempo.
rogerch lovely! I am so impressed with all of your improvisations, and this one is quite compelling. And I like your reason for the name!
MarieJ great playing! Really beautiful! I have this score but have never tried it. I love how you sound where you drop down to the lower register, to me this is like the essence of Einaudi, those tonal contrasts, and you’ve captured it so nicely. Your piano sounds great, can I ask what kind of mic you use? Oh wait, is that a direct line out? (My memory is rubbish, apologies if we’ve discussed this before!) anyway, so assuming it’s a line out, your pianotec is amazing! Do you have to tweak it a lot before uploading, or is it ready to go like that?
lilypad that was great! I love the chords, and if you hadn’t mentioned rolling the 10ths, I wouldn’t have thought you were doing anything other than playing the piece as intended. It sounds lovely!
ShiroKuro huh, that sounds better than I remembered. But keep practicing, and don’t give up your day job. 😅
