Unless you are looking for a large piece of Victorian furniture, which I suppose you could use as a sort-of sideboard, square pianos are useless, and restoring them is a fool's errand. They are quite difficult to work on, parts for them are hard or impossible to find (so have to be made by hand), and the end result of rebuilding one is an instrument markedly inferior to uprights or grands. Square pianos were meant for people who couldn't accommodate a grand in their living room and couldn't afford a grand. They were entirely supplanted when piano manufacturers started making uprights...which not only are light years better in terms of sound, but also take up even less space than a square. The best I can say for them is that they are quaint.
