As you may remember, I have had a hard time finding a new piano teacher. After two years with a teacher who I felt had taught me all she could, I never found anyone else I truly trusted. I settled for ArtistWorks, helpful for piece-specific feedback, but offering very little on technique, which is what I care about most.
Now and then, I thought back to a teacher I had almost five years ago. I only took four lessons with her before quitting, feeling like I could not do anything right. But I trusted her, and I regretted walking away.
And would you believe it? Out of the blue, she messaged me on Facebook, responding to something I had posted about Trump. We quickly discovered we shared the same views.
I have always believed that life offers you chances, that you can gracefully accept or let pass. But if you do not say yes, they slip away. This felt like one of those chances. I gathered the courage to ask if she would take me back as a student. She said yes.
Next week, we will have our first lesson again!
