As I was saying to Rob a few weeks ago, I've been working at getting a good guitar sound on my recordings with my GP-295. I went all out on this recording. The bass is my Breedlove five string but everything else is played on the keyboard to Studio One (DAW).

Peyton Thank you for posting this.
You certainly made it sound as if it was a guitar based band playing.
I can certainly appreciate the time and skill that goes into creating a multi-track recording.
It is something I used to enjoy doing, but don't seem to have the patience for, these days.

Just one thing - maybe there should be a warning as the opening bars are very loud - it nearly deafened me and I only had my volume low! 😮

Thank you! Yea, the video was fun to do. I knew if I kept the camera still and filmed the bass playing it would make for a cool effect. I've played with multi-track for over 40 years now and it has gotten so much easier with todays DAW's and effect plugins. Now that I'm semi retired I can spend so much time working on it. Just love it.

Peyton It seems we have been into multi-track for about the same number of years!
I started with a Sony reel to reel that had a a 'sound on sound' feature for over-dubbing, then on to Portastudios, and finally to DAWs.

I spent years trying to set up an easily workable system for video and multi-tracking, and now that I am finally there (plus being retired) I don't do so much of it anymore. I did more when I didn't have so much time on my hands! but your videos are motivating me to get back into it, so I thank you for that.🙂

Remember bouncing? I would bounce tracks on to another machine adding a new track, every time losing more sound quality. One of the really cool things about todays DAWs are the plugins. I used to have a rack of effects, now I have more than ever right at my fingertips. (And don't know how to use 98% of them).

Peyton Bouncing seemed really cool at the time, but as you say, sound quality was awful compared to today's digital quality;

I have more plugins and VSTs than I know what to do with, but I try to stick with just a handful of 'old faithfuls'.
Sometimes, less choice is more.

Nightowl Ha, sorry, never thought of that. Not a good piece to start right off on headphones with the volumn turned up.
