That's their description, not mine... From FB marketplace: "Fun, painted piano. We’ve purely used this as a decoration in our home, it is not tuned, but all keys do work. It doesn’t fit with our style anymore and needs a new home! "

I'm curious about what the style was that this piano previous fit with....

The keyboard:

The hammers:

The totality:

Can anyone make out what is says here on the plate?

I wonder if the keys actually move freely with all that paint. I don't even want to think about the impact of paint on the hammers or the strings...

And yes, I know it's a spinet and thus probably wasn't much of a piano to begin with, but still....

I mean, as colors go, I like it too…. As piano’s go, not so much 😅

I’ll have to find those photos of Drake’s piano. The Bosie, do you remember it? I love that piano. If someone wants a colorful keyboard, that’s the model to aim for. IMO at least.

Yikes, I'd have to close my eyes to play - I'd get dizzy!

I'd like to see the expression on a tuner's face if they were called to tune that piano without knowing ahead of time what it looked like!

Edited to add, these are the famous Takashi Murakami flowers. Swap these out for those skulls, keep that colorful keyboard, and we got a deal!

would be a great piano for a "play me" public space instrument at an airport!

As far as the Drake piano, I wonder how to rename the Chopin Etude if playing on that. Change the name of Chopin's "Black Keys" etude to "Color Palette Etude" for sure!

ShiroKuro Here's the keyboard on Drake's piano

I'm not a fan of the skulls or the flowers but that pastel "black key" palette is so pretty!

twocats that pastel "black key" palette is so pretty!

I know! I want to play it!!!

Although I know it would be soooo distracting.

Once I painted my nails a very pretty purple color. I couldn't play at all, the flash of color moving around the keys totally threw me!! After about 5 minutes, I immediately got out the nail polish remover! 😆

ShiroKuro maybe it wouldn't be as distracting since the keys are in fixed places 🙂

Not that I'll ever get to play a piano like that, so my theory is moot...

I like the upright much better aesthetically. I suspect the bosie sounds a bit better but I don't find the keys or inside of a lid attractive.

That piano looks utterly hideous - like somebody set a toddler free with their paints and that was the result. 😵 The combination of colours is not too bad - it's more the way they have been swirled around, it just looks like a mess to me.

Drake's piano is quite lovely though - I wonder how much that cost?

I googled around but didn't see a price, but the Piano Buyer lists the different 280VC options (which is what Drake's Bosie is) as ranging from SMP $270,000 to $500,000..... yikes!!!
