Nice to know Chopin & I are on the same page about those bells. BTW - I would say that Peter Feuchtwanger's approach is from the Chopin "School", bel canto, lyrical, not banging, though we do need to ring those bells occasionally.
As to learning things quickly, it's one of the Gifts I was Given, always been this way. Everybody's got something. I got that. Can't say it's made me my first 1M$ yet though, but it's handy. The other thing I would add is that learning new music helps keep my aging synapses working better. Learning new music is, IMO and of some experts, really good for us that way.
