@ShiroKuro - to answer the question about neediness, other than the floor tiles (which someone else takes to our piano get togethers), I just take my Bluetooth page turner and my iPad.
I do get-togethers with other piano players, and thereās never a question of shoes! I think we all understand thatā¦ wellā¦ we play with our shoes on. (In the comfort of my own home, I actually enjoy bedroom slippers, but I find it very uncomfortable to pedal without some kind of footware). My piano technician seems to have become habituated to people insisting that he be barefoot, and he automatically starts taking off his shoes. So whenever he comes, I make it a point to remind him that it is no problem whatsoever for him to keep his shoes on.
Personally, with the iPad, I prefer for the music desk to be almost perpendicular to the piano. I think this is a combination of my short height and something to do with the iPad. For books/paper scores, I prefer that the music desk is angled back slightly. Anyways, I think a lot of older pianos donāt have an aggressively perpendicular setting, so itās something Iāve had to adjust to. Usually by the time Iām playing on someone elseās piano, I know the piece quite well, so the score is more of a reference than something Iām really actively reading from.
