Until October 25 Chandos and the other labels it services are available for purchase/download at 50% off.

So far I've bought a couple of Boris Giltburg Naxos disks in lossless FLAC format for 2.88 pounds apiece ($3.76 US).

I don't know what to make of that. It's nice to have a CD, but I can't imagine there's a whole lot of profit in the sales of CDs either. What does this mean for the future of classical music distribution (aside from the big media companies such as Sony, who don't generally provide opportunities for less famous artists)?
Is it now all SoundCloud and YouTube, etc.?

Yeah, it seems weird. One would think that a download would cost less to produce than a physical (CD/packaging) product.
That said, when I buy physical music I immediately rip it to FLAC anyway.
