Hello,
I was wondering if you could kindly provide some feedback on my singing. I labeled this discussion "off-topic" because I am singing to background/karaoke tracks instead of playing keyboard/piano. I also sing while playing keyboard, but sometimes I just focus on the singing part which is what this is. My goal is to become a more well-rounded musician in general.
A bit of background: I am a beginner singer and only sing for fun and friends, horses, farm animals, i.e., I have no professional career in mind. When I started playing in a band about a year ago, I sometimes got the opportunity to sing. So, I have put emphasis on singing for the last couple of months to strengthen that skill.
My vocal range is D2-C5. Of that D2-C4 is in chest voice and C4-C5 is in head voice. My normal speech is centered around G2. Not sure if that makes me a bass or a baritone. I am familiar with that the range of the song has to be matched to the vocal range that I can comfortably sing. Thus when needed, I can shift the key of the background track up or down. Btw, I use the app "Singscope" to visualize which notes I am singing.
I am at the point where I am considering taking in-person vocal lessons. But before I do, I wanted to ask you if you could give me any pointers if there is anything that sticks out in my singing or if there is anything that I should specifically work on.
Much appreciated,
