Some of the price difference could be due to larger distances that have to be travelled and the time taken in travelling. In the UK I pay £95.

Khuja_Wangtishvili cost of living has gotten quite high and traffic has gotten bad in my city. My former tech said he used to be able to do 5 tunings in a day, but due to traffic he had to reduce it to three. Later he also added a travel fee if he had to drive for over 25 minutes.

From my experience. visiting Europe on a regular and frequent basis, life is presently much cheaper in Europe than in the US. My local health club has a small bar which charges $18 for a hamburger!. For this money you can by a small meal at lunch in a bistrot in Nice (Viva the Riviera).

$200 near Breckenridge, Colorado. He tunes for the local orchestra and then swings by for mine.

I don't know if it's typical, but my new tuner charges $250. Lots of things are quite expensive in New York City. My previous tuner, who who recently retired after 50 years, charged $225.

Bellyman The price just went up in Jan. My Expert Tuner/Tech is now charging $220, but if I want to have just someone who can only tune (no tech) it's $175. By having my tuner/tech, he will do technical fixes on the spot, IE Voicing, Regulating, etc as well as tuning. For the Steinway, it's worth the money and he is probably the best in a 100 - 200 mile radius of where I live in the area I live (Western North Carolina)
